My story

I grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and I’ve played the fiddle since I was ten years old. Growing up, I spent a lot of time in the rodeo arena, barrel racing and goat tying, and I played basketball too. Later I studied at the University of Wyoming.

I still rope and ride horses. I love being outdoors, and I’m happiest when I’m active and busy.

The music I love

My heart is in old-time fiddle, bluegrass and worship music. I also write worship songs, including setting the Psalms to music. To me, an old tune or a well-worn hymn carries something steady in it, something people can lean on. I like to play it plainly, the way it was meant to be shared.

Why I play for seniors

Music has a way of reaching people. A familiar melody can bring back a memory, start a conversation, or simply offer some comfort on an ordinary afternoon. That’s why I bring my fiddle to senior communities: to play the songs people know and share a little time together. Not everyone will sing along, and that’s all right. Sometimes listening is enough.

“A familiar song can open a door that words alone can’t.”

Family and faith

I’ve been married for 25 years, and we have six children. I adore my family.

Faith is at the center of my life. I love Jesus, and I’m active in my faith community at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Parish in Littleton. For faith-based communities, I’m glad to include hymns, worship songs and my own Psalm settings. Wherever I play, my aim is the same: good music, offered with care.
